Phi Kappa Pi understands that as a parent your primary interest is that your son is successful while attending University, leading to a promising future. Being successful at the University level involves more than just good grades; it involves learning about the people and circumstances that surround us and developing the personal skills to succeed in life. We appreciate your concerns and share them with you.

A wise man once said, "You are judged by the company you keep." Phi Kappa Pi's ongoing commitment to seeking out and bringing through quality members insures that your son will be in great company. Our organization has prescribed to the same ideals, traditions and skills that our founding chapters set in 1913. They have allowed us to enjoy continued success throughout the decades and many a Phi Kap has gone on to hold very prestigious positions in the working world — Politicians, judges, doctors, and lawyers to name just a few.

Responsibility is a hallmark of success at University. Brothers of Phi Kappa Pi are charged with many tasks that teach them how to manage their time and make the transition to responsible adulthood. Our chapter houses have bills to pay, functions to organize, annual philanthropic responsibilities, and a proud tradition to perpetuate. We pride ourselves in running a first class organization and that starts with the hard work and efforts of our members.

As much as Phi Kappa Pi Fraternity is, there are many things that it is not. We are not the "Animal House". We do not haze or demean our Brothers in any way, shape or form. All of our activities are voluntary, which means we do not pressure our members to participate or encourage them to neglect their other commitments, especially their studies. We do not demand high monetary contributions from our members. Finally, we do not make alcohol consumption a requisite to any of our activities, including becoming a member.

Ultimately, the single greatest benefit we can offer your son is the chance to form enduring bonds of friendship and support that will last long after graduation. Our chapters offer a supportive environment that can help your son tackle challenges head on with the strength that comes from unconditional comradeship. We encourage all parents of our potential members to speak personally with any of our Brothers about any topic of concern. We also invite parents to explore our website to better familiarize themselves with our organization.

The decision to join a Greek Society is not one that should be taken lightly — it is our hope that parents will take an active role in the decision-making process.
